Today was a cooking-food-to-put-in-the-freezer day, so that the guys will have some tasty treats while Linz and I are away. To be honest, it feels a bit strange to be getting ready for this trip. In the 26+ years that George and I have been married, it’s been a very rare occasion when I’ve gone on a trip away from the family, and most certainly never for a month. On the menu: Quiche Crepes with blueberry filling, topped with cream and strawberries Fruit salad Hash browns Fresh squeezed orange juice Milk

I baked cookies, cakes, pizza, biscuits, muffins…oh yeah, we cooked meat in the grill, too. Thankfully, some very kind brothers and sisters in Christ helped us buy a new stove, for which I am still very thankful. It …

For example, yesterday morning I began preparing some pancakes for our breakfast. I then realized that we were out of pancake syrup, so I got out my recipe book and quickly began to gather the ingredients. I had to step out of the kitchen for a moment, and upon my return I glanced back at my recipe, only to find a slug crawling in my book. Yes, a slug. Where was it …
